Alderbrook Golf Club Professional Staff

General Manager

Rick Verbarendse assumed the role of General Manager of Alderbrook Golf Club in January 2007 arriving with a wealth of knowledge related to the golf industry.  He began as an apprentice at Sahalee CC under Paul Runyan, a two time PGA Champion and member of the PGA Hall of Fame.  Rick completed his apprentice training at Riviera CC, home of the LA Open and Bellingham Golf & CC.  In 1979 he became a Class A member of the PGA and proceeded to spend the next 30 plus years as a Head Professional, Golf Instructor, Club Fitter & Custom Club Maker, Course Designer, Golf Course Contractor, Director of Golf and General Manager.   During his time at Alderbrook a new clubhouse has been constructed, a conceptual golf course master plan has been drafted with numerous improvements to the golf course.   When asked about his goals Rick will tell you "Alderbrook is a special place and we will do everything possible to see that it is left in better condition than when we arrived.  It is our goal that every member and guest have a positive experience during every visit."

Head Professional

Justin Gravatt got his start at golf playing his first rounds of golf at Alderbrook Golf Club as a child. His passion for the game quickly grew. Attending Olympia High School he knew early that he wanted to make a career for himself in the golf profession. He then attended Walla Walla Community College where he received a degree in Professional Golf Management and was award NWACC All Conference for his achievements on the golf team. After completion he began his career as an Associate Instructor at the Leading Edge Golf Academy and an Assistant Professional at Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, WA. Justin later accepted a position as an Assistant Professional at Bellingham Golf & Country Club before joining us at Alderbrook. He was excited about the idea of giving back to the course that gave him so much growing up. Justin has been with us since 2006.
